Reproducing some of my favourite travel images like this one form the Nile for this new series of postcards is a really pleasing project. It is always fun to search through the albums and look at past photos, they bring so many great memories back.
This image from the Nile on the banks of Cairo easily fits into the favourite description, the photo itself, the trip and the memories it brings. Just looking at this picture reminds me of the sights, sounds and smells of an amazing destination.
Egypt is one of those countries that every traveller has visited or will visit. It is one of the great travel destinations, with so much history, culture and incredible sights.
The Great Pyramid at Giza is one of the icons of travel, Luxor is like a huge outdoor museum annd then museum at Cairo has to be one of the most fascinating in the world. It is impossible to see even a small proportion of the displays in a single day.
There are a few negative aspects as well, haggling with the hawkers are some of the most persistent in the world and can become a little tiresome. Egypt has suffered since the ‘Arab Spring’ but will almost certainly come through this soon as it is too fascinating to stay away from for long.
